January 2011 - Early Childhood a Key to Economic Development in Northern Michigan
January 2011 - Avenue ISR recently completed the final phase of a study on the economic impacts of investments in young children (aged 0-5). At the highest level, the study found that the region can realize a return on investment of $6 for every $1 invested in early childhood (e.g. wider reaching pre-school, better access to prenatal care, and home visitation programs). The study relied on extensive local data as well as national landmark research. The study was commissioned by The Great Start Traverse Bay/Manistee Collaborative and funded by Michigan's Early Childhood Investment Corporation.
